 Whatifproductions.biz – Producer/Directors Biography

Stan Freitag

Artistic Director / Producer / Public Relations / Actor & Artist

Stan Freitag is a native Oregonian with a Bachelor’s Degree in Acting/Directing from the University of Oregon and a Master’s Degree in Acting & Directing at the University of Arizona. At the University of Oregon, he performed in various productions such as Romeo and Juliet, as Tybalt, and Pozzo in Waiting For Godot.  Here, Stan began to expand his skills as an illustrator, make-up artist, sculptor and fight choreographer.  He also performed in his first independent film, God On Trial in the lead role as Greg.  Finally, nearing graduation, he portrayed Autolycus in the Winter’s Tale where he received an Irene Ryan nomination, which earned Stan a graduate scholarship and an MA at the University of Arizona.

As he worked as an acting Instructor in Arizona he played Chet in the award winning play, As Is, and Mike in the MGM/UA television series, Young Riders.  While in Arizona, Stan also performed at the Invisible Theatre as David in The Foreigner, and Max in A.K.A. Theatre’s production of Bent.

Upon arrival to Los Angeles in 1990, Stan got busy in the theatre, playing Hamlet, at the Magnolia Playhouse in North Hollywood, directing and producing the show as well.  Functioning as a bartender and short order grill chef, Stan continued to pursue film, theatre and animation projects, while also teaching acting/improv and scene study at Macker Entertainment studios in Glendale, all the while creating early forms of his miniature studio and prop/costume unit at home.

As an actor, Stan was a member of the Sacred Fools Theatre Company, where he played the Lieutenant in the Adding Machine, which won an LA Weekly award for Revival Production of the year in 1999.  He also became a player in their late-night sketch comedy show, Crime Scene, creating multiple roles while providing props, costumes and graphic art as well.

As a director/producer, Stan incorporated the two together when he produced, co-wrote and directed the musical “dramedy” Ignored with co-director/producer Ken Dixon, that was performed at the Richard Pryor playhouse in Hollywood, California.  Stan also co-wrote, directed and produced the full-length play, In The Position, once again in league with Ken Dixon at the Playhouse in the Foothills

Stan also worked with the Zoo District theatre company as Lecodev in their award winning production of The Master and Margerita.  Soon after, Stan appeared in the independent film, Le Superficiales as Francois.

As an art director, Stan worked on conceptual designs for Sony’s game show pilot, Russian Roullette, storyboarded  Extreme Ghostbusters, and provided art direction/construction for the independent short films, Who Killed Simon Thaddeus Mullberry Pew? and Conversations.

After 13 years in Los Angeles, Stan undertook a radical sabbatical to raise his son Jack and his daughter Ruby on his 350 acres of family land in Oregon, where he joined forces with his long time friend and collaborator, Brian M. Heater to form their multi-media production company, Whatifproductions.biz

Stan’s interest in forming a professional production company had been several years in the making. His skills as an actor, artist and art director made him a great partner for Brian, his longtime tech friend, who adds computer skills, video editing, audio engineering, website and business skills to Stan's production resume. Their combined knowledge and skills makes them a diverse and effective production company.

A complete dossier of Stan Freitag’s acting, reviews and art catalogue is available upon request, along with footage and digital documentation.

Brian M Heater

Technical Director / Producer / Business Manager / Video Editor & Audio Engineer

As Whatifproductions.biz Technical Director and Business Manager, Brian has developed his production and business skills for the past 25 years through a variety of careers and business ventures. His love for the outdoors, business, technology, photography, movies and music was at the forefront of his education and interests.

Brian graduated with honors at the University of Oregon in Human Communications and has continued graduate work in communication, cultural anthropology, writing, video production, computer design and business over the last 20 years.  He has had careers in social work, counseling, teaching, carpentry and building design, management, real estate and has owned 2 restaurants and a popular music club.  He has owned and operated several businesses throughout the past 25 years and knows the ins and outs of business management.  He has also been a musician and sound engineer for many years. His interest in technology, electronics, lighting and electricity started as a child. He started his first rock music band and constructed his first stage lighting kit at age 12. Brian took a liking to photography in his 20’s and sold his work locally for many years.  Computer technology was introduced to him at the advent of the first Apple/Macintosh and IBM PC units in the 80’s and his interest and love of technology made this a good fit.  Over the years he learned website design, computer graphics, desktop publishing, audio and video production to give him the skills he needed to run a multi-media production company.  Brian topped this off by completing extra graduate training in TV Studio & Video Production and received a Producer’s certificate in 1998.

Brian founded and ran his own local Northwest production company, Wild World Productions, from 1998-2005. He produced several video documentaries and PSA’s along with designing and developing many business websites.   With a two-year break to pursue real estate investments Brian reunited and merged his company in 2006 with his long time friend Stan Freitag and founded Whatifproductions.biz. Stan brings skills to the company as a longtime actor, artist and art director.  Their joint partnership was what he was looking for in a production company and gives them a diverse and highly skilled team.

Brian’s diverse skills in business, communication and computer technology give him what it takes to be part of a successful multi-media production company. His eye for detail and excellent communication skills help get things done in a thoughtful and professional manner.  Feel free to contact him anytime to discuss your needs.
